1885 :: Death of Green Taylor
Dallas Morning News. Casualties. Drowned in Little River. [Special to The News.] Cameron, August 6. -- Green Taylor, who formerly resided in this (Milam) county, and is now a resident of Minden, was drowned, yesterday evening, in Little River, near Davilla. 1901 :: Death of E.W. Graham
Cameron, Tex., Aug. 19 -- E.W. Graham died at his home near Davilla, Milam County, late yesterday, aged 82. He was born in Harvey District, South Carolina, on Aug. 27, 1819, and came to Texas in 1853. He worked on the old statehouse at Austin and remained in Austin about three years. He then returned to South Carolina, but came to Texas and located on Elm Creek north of Rogers. In 1861 he removed to the spot where he died and where he has continually resided. 1911 :: Dallas Dentist Meets Death
Dallas Morning News, January 8, 1911 -- Dr. Kenneth A. King, who was killed in the Katy wreck at Abbott yesterday morning, lived at 117 Wall street, Dallas, and was secretary of the State Dental College of this city. He was 30 years old and was born in Bavilla [sic -- Davilla], Milam County. He is survived by a widow and infant child, who are visiting relatives in Anson, Tex. Mrs. King will arrive here this morning at 8 o'clock. Other relatives are four brothers and three sisters -- Dr. F.B. King, Houston; Dr. M.K. King and Dr. Ben R. King, Fort Worth, Hon. H.T. King, Abilene; Mrs. Leonard Isaacs, Rockdale, and Mrs. Letcher, Dallas. The body was brought to Dallas at 7:20 o'clock last night and was met at the depot by Dr. Bradford, president of the State Dental College, and a number of students, who escorted the body to the Ed C. Smith & Bros. undertaking establishment. The body will be sent to Rockdale Monday for burial. . . . [his findagrave memorial page]
